This is the graceful palm of tropic shores, and perhaps the most useful to human kind. Some people believe the coconut tree to be a symbol of romance and relaxation. The tree can grow lo lengths of 50— 80 feet and has the largest seed in the world. The coconut fruit has a hard outside and white ‘meat’ beneath with a hollow centre in which there is coconut milk, or what the local Antigua refers to as ‘coconut water’.
